The Housing Channel Homebuyer Orientation is an important step on your journey to achieve your dreams of homeownership. During this free 1.5 hour class, you’ll learn more about:

CLASS TOPICS:

  • The ins and outs of homeownership - is it right for you now, or in the future?

  • What it takes to become a successful homeowner

  • Important homebuying topics like qualifying for a mortgage

  • Information about down payment assistance programs that can help you - achieve homeownership with less money down

We recommend that you complete the Financial Literacy Class, Homebuyer Orientation Class, and set up a one-on-one counseling session before proceeding to the Homebuyer Workshop.


Homebuyer Orientations are typically offered twice a month, both virtually (mornings) and in person (evenings).

Class FAQs

  • Any community member aged 18 or over is welcome to attend a Housing Channel class, regardless of income or where they live.

  • All Housing Channel classes are FREE, but registration is required.

  • We ask that only adults come to the classes. If that doesn’t work for you - consider taking a virtual class.

  • Free onsite parking is available.

  • Please feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. If the class is an all day class, lunch will be provided.

  • In-person classes are held at Housing Channel, 2900 Airport Freeway, Fort Worth 76111 unless otherwise stated.

  • Once you fill out the registration form, you will receive an e-mail confirming you are registered. If you do not receive an email, please contact us at 817.924.5091 or email us at counseling@housingchannel.org.

  • Please let us know at counseling@housingchannel.org. Then visit the classes page to sign up for a different class date.

  • Of course! All community members are welcome to participate in our classes, but they must register.
